US companies on the losing end of this story. This might be especially true for foreign regulated companies (a Canadian healthcare company is cited in the article).

I suspect the impact will be limited. Other countries aren’t necessarily safer or more privacy-promoting, and most companies aren’t heavily regulated like healthcare, so their focus will be on cost, uptime, and technology considerations rather than privacy. Still, this economic impact is expected and is a good thing overall.
